Station History

WOPP joined the airwaves Sept. 19th, 1980. Since then, WOPP has seen many changes - from turntables, records and cassettes to CDs. WOPP has now entered the computer age. These days the majority of our programs and music are stored on a computer hard drive.

WOPP cares about the community and is actively involved in making Opp and Covington County better. We take great interest in the young people in our community. Since 1980, we have given Opp students the chance to be a part of broadcasting at our station. Some have even graduated and made broadcasting a career.
